PROJECT GRANITE

PROJECT GRANITE is a cottage located in the heart of Ontario’s cottage country. This newly built cottage was purchased by our client with an unfinished walkout basement, which he dreamt of turning into the ultimate place for rest and relaxation – exactly what Muskoka should be! The basement started as a blank slate, so we started by dividing it into a few different rooms in order to maximize functionality. This basement is now complete with a beautiful laundry room, powder room multi-purpose recreation room, and of course an incredible spa. 

The spa is one of our favourite rooms in the entire cottage. It is completely custom, and truly unique – we really don’t think you will find another one like it! From the arched vanity with a custom stone countertop that was imported directly from Italy, to the steam room and shower, to the microcement finishes on all surfaces and use of natural stone throughout, this space truly screams understated luxury and provides a sense of calmness. The best part? The completely custom recessed jacuzzi of course! A space for our client and his friends to enjoy a relaxing time at the spa. We can’t forget about the extension to the spa – the outdoor sauna! This totally wood sauna is in the middle of nature, and it really feels like it. During all of Canada’s four seasons our clients are able to enjoy incredible relaxing scenery all around them, from a fully grown green forest to colourful leaves or snow, there really isn’t a bad view in this sauna.

The fireplace is a STATEMENT piece. It is the first thing you see when you walk down the stairs. The three-sided fireplace is surrounded by microcement and natural stone, and is truly a work of art. The curved lines of the upper portion of the fireplace really soften the space and relate back to some of the other soft edges found throughout the basement. While you are entertaining, there is also a mini-bar with a full wine fridge to keep your guests happy.

Project Granite received a full makeover and added some much-needed functionality for our client. We are so excited for our client to get to use his space for years to come!
